Last night we were with lots of our friends who also have kids as we were all at the school dance. Turns out almost everyone we know has had their house flooded. We’re really lucky that our basement is still dry however that could change any moment. I think we’re supposed to get another 3 inches or so in a blast tomorrow morning on top of the steady rain that’ll fall throughout the day today. Then if we’re lucky, it’ll begin to dry out. They say we’ve had a years worth or rain in a week! Â The humidity in our basement is about 75% according to the meter in the wine cellar. I’m sure there’s tons of water under the foundation but like I said, so far, we’re one of the lucky ones.
Annette says:
Ok with all these great dances and decorations what are you going to do when they get to high school? Sounds like fun. Hope the rain stops.
Now to the big dance. I don’t know what we’re going to do when the kids hit high school. I told the misses last night when it was all over, these dances wear me out, and I’m not the one doing the work! They consume her and nothing else matters. I suppose I can put up with having her MIA for a week or so for the good of the school and kids. I had numerous parents come up to me last night saying what a great job she did and how great it is that she always volunteers which is true as not a lot of other parents step up. It seems it’s always her and a couple other Mom’s that do everything. She’d better start working on getting the Rolling Stones lined up for the high school dance now!
Ty went home with Nick last night to spend the night so it was just Jag, Mom and I. We finally made it home around 9pm as we have to stay and clean up the school gym after the dance. Lori wore a long ball gown of my Mom’s and luckily I went home to get her some jeans and a shirt to change into to clean up. She looked beautiful as usual.
Not sure what we’ll do today, our garage doors are being installed Monday as they had to cancel yesterday due to the rain. I then have people in town Tuesday and Wednesday for work and will be getting ready to go to Seattle the week after that for our annual company meeting. Baseball is obviously cancelled tomorrow which is great news as it was the same time as the Bronco game. I would have gone to baseball but with a radio in hand. I’d much rather watch it on tv!
Everyone (Lori and Jag) are still sleeping and it’s about 6:20. Oh by the way, another democrat who is a senator from Boulder abruptly resigned the other day to, in her words to, “take a new job in the privat sector to continue serving the people of Colorado” when the truth is she knew she wasn’t going to get re-elected. I think she (as she was also a vocal supporter of stripping our 2nd Amendment rights) saw the writing on the wall. Of course the Gov gets to appoint her replacement and no doubt he’ll appoint another dem but they’re starting to run scared, which they should. Maybe the American people are starting to wake up, we can only hope so.
I’ll leave it at that for the day, hope everyone is well. Have a great weekend and God Bless.
