And on it goes

We all woke up by 8am and Billie was downstairs making the boys breakfast. We all were cleaned up by 10 or so and a little before 11am we walked to the restaurant where our table was reserved for the parade. It all started right on schedule at noon. First up was a L1030704parade of motorcycles zooming and booming down Main Street, then fire engines, cowboys on horses, veterans from WW1, WW2, Korea and any other conflict we’ve had in the past 100 years.L1030716

Trow in all kinds of local organizations and 90 minutes later it was all over. Greg and Billie were off to another party for a quick appearance and wanted us to go but we passed so we could walk back to their house and load up for the 6 block ride to the St Regis Hotel.

We checked in and all was well, the boys wanted to swim so off we went. Upon returning L1030722to our room, I took a quick shower and afterwards it stunk like a sewer! I went right down to the front desk for help and they said they couldn’t move us as they had no other adjoining rooms or suites. They did send engineering up to pour some sort of enzymes in the drain saying that this happens from time to time. Needless to say I was not happy happy happy, but thought I’d give them a chance since we had no other options, until we were back from dinner. We made it back by 9:30 or so after a great dinner at Cache Cache (one of the greatest restaurants there is) and walked in to what smelled like a freakin out house! Now I was livid and they sent engineering back up but I called and demanded two new rooms even if they weren’t connected. So the oldest and I ended up in room 207 with 2 great beds and Mom and Ty one floor above in 301, a room with a king bed. Their room had a roll away and the misses said let’s all just sleep there, but I said no way, we’re using both rooms just because.

So that’s it, a fun great day at the parade and a smelly room to boot before finally ending up one floor apart in new comfy rooms. Today I’ll be demanding some sort of compensation (even though I’m not paying for the rooms) as it was just unacceptable. No ones fault, just unacceptable.

Mom will post some pictures soon, hope everyone had a great 4th. God Bless. Here’s a comment from Annette,

Annette says:

Sounds like a great 4th for you all. The cop behind my next door neighbor has been shooting off fireworks all week so I don’t have to go,anywhere to see fireworks. I think they are illegal and very impressive. Poor Betty Mae would be under the desk all week.
