Tornados? Severe weather here?

Last night about 12 am I woke up just by chance and 5 minutes later the tornado sirens were howling. I looked outside, checked the news and decided better safe than sorry. So I grabbed the kids and the misses and both dogs and headed for the basement. It’s not often we see tornados in Lakewood or Denver but the microburst or tornado we had a few years ago that tore up our roof proves they can happen. After about 30 minutes downstairs we went back up but I stayed up monitoring the news until about 1am. I was going to call my Mom if it got any worse but hoped she slept through it.

Earlier in the evening we went to Capital Grill with June who had her 91st birthday yesterday. The boys behaved extremely well and everyone had a good time. We were home by 7:30 which was good.

The misses resignation went fine as it should but I could tell she was a bit apprehensive about going in. Everyone have her hugs and said they totally understand and would do the same thing if in her position. The people there are actually really nice. She spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon cleaning the house so the cleaning lady could clean the house! This morning the house looks really nice. We’ll see how long it lasts.

We let the boys sleep in since they were up from the storm. I don’t know if the pool is even open this morning. Whoops, they both just came down, at least it’s 8am meaning they slept in a few extra hours. We’re supposed to get more of the same tonight.

I need to make some calls so time to run. I’m glad and the misses is relieved that she isn’t going to work checking and bagging groceries anymore. We just can’t take the chance that she’ll re-injure herself.

Before I go I wanted to share my daily thought on politics, here’s a comment from Grandma Annette,

Annette says:

Now if only California will take the hint and do something our unions. I think somethig is really wrong with this country (both parties) when long time Senetors are quiting (Maine) because no one will work together and votes straight party lines.

She’s exactly right, especially in California, they’re 16 billion dollars in the hole which is a surprise as their Governor, (Jerry Brown, how’d he get elected again???) said it was only 9 billion a few months ago. I guess he’s following the Obama school of statistics, report a good jobless number then wait a few months before revising it downward. Or how about yesterday, we find out the administration counts guys who mow lawns and bus drivers as “green jobs”. Wow, they can’t even be straight with us with the data. Anyhow I have nothing against Union workers but the pensions and deals in place are not realistic. I don’t understand why they can’t figure out that they’re never going to get paid what their pension says they will anyhow as there’s just not the money! I guess they figure the government can just print more and pay them anyhow. News flash, there is no more money and the bill is coming due! Oh wait, the Feds can just print more which is why the stock market went up (had it’s largest one day gain ever) yesterday. You see the day before all the gains for the entire year were wiped out so the member of the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta hinted in a statement that another stimulus was coming so, BAM, the stock market booms! It’s all politics folks, they (Obama) will keep everything together and paint a pretty picture until the election but 2013 and 2104 are going to be pure hell, mark my words.

Last check this out, pretty interesting,

This tells the story, why Bush was so bad at the end of his term.

Some people aren’t aware of all of this. Don’t just skim over this, please read it slowly and let it sink in. If in doubt, check it out.

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd, 2009, it was actually January 3, 2007… the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 -The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5% -The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH

Remember the day… January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment… added to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democrat Congress

So when someone tries to blame Bush…

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER! Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.
In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid by passed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets. And the Democrat-controlled Senate refuses to do their job since then and pass a budget so they won’t be blamed for any of this mess!

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is, “I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.”

Hard to argue with although I know those on the other side can and will dismiss this as hogwash, sorry but’s it’s true. In the interest of not offending all of you, I’m putting politics at the end of the blog these days so you can tune out if you choose to. For those of you that do read this, please cut and paste this part and pass it on!

God Bless,
