Devastation

Out in Los Angeles, fires are destroying the city. Kristin, Lori’s best friend and basically her sister since birth, lost her home in Pacific Palisades yesterday. In the last few hours, two new fires have erupted as well. Kristin wasn’t home when it broke out, so she basically lost everything. Guess the fire hydrants didn’t have water and the city, which passed a $7.5 billion dollar water bill 8 years ago, never completed a single project as they used the money on other things. They also took $17 million from the fire department budget for illegals and shipped a bunch of their firefighting equipment, under Federal orders, to Ukraine. Not trying to make it political right now, but those are the facts. Tens of thousands of people are affected, and thousands are now without their homes. What’s worse, is they’ve lost all their belongings. Kristin lost everything, all her family photos and anything else meaningful she owned. Good luck with the insurance company, if you had insurance. This is why major companies left, because the State refused to clear out underbrush and do basic fire mitigation all to bow down to the environmentalists and eco terrorists, and because the govt. diverted money to fund their sanctuary city policies and give it to illegals. The people in charge, should be charged. So sad. I don’t know if Kristin had insurance at all. Even if you have the money to rebuild, the whole city (Malibu, Palisades, etc.) is gone. And if you do, now with no vegetation, when the rains come, and they will come, so will the floods. I’d move, but most probably won’t. Prayers to all the people dealing with this.

Here’s a photo Kristin took last night of her street.

Yesterday I dropped off Lori around 8:20 in Frisco and headed to Denver. I was back in Vail around 1. Lori made it home around 6:30 and then Jag, Ava, Lori and I played Monopoly. Jagger of course won. He’s so funny as with everything he does, he takes it very seriously.

Not sure if they’re going down to Boulder today or not. Right now, Vail Pass is closed with no estimated time of reopening. So for now, they’re not going anywhere.

I have a conference call at 10 that should run a couple hours. We’ll have our men’s fellowship tonight after work. Lori’s car will now be done on the 14th, so I’ll be driving her around for a few more days.

That’s about it, looks like it’s snowing in Denver. All clear up here. Lesson of the day, and I’ve said it before, is you can only depend on yourself. We’re taxed and taxed, more and more each year, yet when you need to government to step in and help you, they’re nowhere to be found. I wonder if the people in California will get more help rebuilding than those in North Carolina. Everyone has all but forgotten those people, yet their homes are still gone from the hurricane and no help has arrived. Or how about Hawaii? Remember the fires over there? No one has still helped them rebuild. Lesson is, you’re on your own! Don’t forget it!

God Bless.
