Here we go, September is now in full swing. We’ve even had snow in September in the past, although I don’t see it happening this year, thankfully. As I think I mentioned the other day, I’m skipping flying to Austin today. I’ll jump on Zoom tomorrow for the meeting.
Today we have some errands to run and things to get done before heading out Friday morning. Ty’s buddies had a blast hanging out with him and headed home last night. They’ve known each other since 3rd grade. He was really glad to see them. Ty is getting tired of the restaurant business and trying to decide what he wants to do with the next chapter of his life. Good for him, as he’s looking for his path. All part of the process.
Marty is back to the doctor today and tomorrow. He’s sort of bummed he’s not right back to 100% normal, but this was a big thing and is going to take some time to get over. James is home and done until the last four shows of the 2-year tour in Mexico City starting on the 20th of this month.
Do you believe in God? Hope so. Do you think he looks out for you? He does. Here’s some divine intervention. Marty, James and I were going to be moose hunting in Alaska right about now, but the timing just didn’t work out this year with the tour schedule. Well, yesterday I texted Cary, our buddy and guide in Alaska about 2025 and his son texted me back. He said, I don’t know how to say this, but my dad was killed in a plane crash 2 days ago flying out to moose camp! I was, and still am, in shock. Cary was known as one of the best pilots in all of Alaska and even retrofitted his plane for the terrain, which other pilots copied. I don’t know the details, such as whether something happened like a bird hitting the plane or some freak accident, but I do know Cary was an expert pilot who had flown hundreds of trips a year in the bush for over two decades. So sad. The surreal thing is the three of us, were going to be there, right now, and could have been on that plane! Things happen for a reason, and really, you only have so much control over your life. God Bless Cary and his family, especially his son Casey.
Oh, there was a shooting in Glenwood yesterday! It was outside of the store, Marshalls. Don’t have all the details but it was someone with warrants who shot at police, and they killed him. It’s getting dangerous everywhere.
Rollie’s memorial in Denver is tomorrow morning with the burial and party in Aspen tomorrow night. I guess there’s a party Thursday and Friday nights too. We’ll see if we can make it to Aspen tomorrow night, but I have to do that Zoom meeting with everyone in Texas.
Well, that’s it, life goes on. Live each day! Nice up here this morning. Probably in the mid 40’s. Time to get moving. Have a great day, God Bless.
