Clean ears

Yesterday after seeing lovely Lori and Dr. B for my neck, I headed over to see Jennifer who is the PA for the ENT doctor. She cleaned out my ears with this vacuum machine that sucks all, and I mean all, the wax out of your ears. I don’t think my ears have ever been so clean or that I’ve been able to hear so well, since I was born! It was a weird sensation as she’d look into my ear and then there would be a sucking sound and feeling sort of like when they put that hose in your mouth at the dentist. In about 5 minutes, both ears were sucked clean of wax. Sounds kind of gross but what a great feeling. Everyone should go do this! I didn’t even know they did it.

No surgery for my neck. This morning I feel the best I’ve felt in weeks as I slept with two pillows. That’s good news.

Ty will be up here around 2 or 3. He facetimed Lori from Lookout Mountain yesterday as they went up to watch the sunset. He said it was cold!

Think I might go to Boulder tomorrow to drop of Jagger’s dresser. It’s been sitting in the garage since May. Sure is nice outside with all the trees changing colors. We love our little grove of Aspen trees. Friday we’re having the sprinklers blown out for winter so that’s the official start of the season, game on!

Dr. B is going to see U2 in the Sphere in Vegas this weekend and also seeing Katy Perry. Think Molly likes her, too funny. He has a conference there. They invited us but we passed.

Before I go, here’s some thoughts to think about! Sort of puts things in perspective, check it out.

In 100 years like in 2123 we will all be buried with our relatives and friends.

Strangers will live in our homes that we fought so hard to buy or build, and they will own everything we have today. All our possessions will be gone, including the car we spent a fortune on, and it’ll probably be scrap, or preferably in the hands of an unknown collector.

Our descendants will hardly know who we were, nor will they remember us. How many of us know our grandfather’s father?

After we die, we will be remembered for a few more years if we’re lucky, then we are just a picture on someone’s bookshelf, and a few years later our history, photos and deeds disappear in history’s oblivion. We won’t even be memories.

If we paused one day to analyze these questions, perhaps we would understand how ignorant and weak the dream to achieve it all was. If we could only really realize this, surely our approach to life would change, and we would all be different people.

Seems we’re always wanting more and wasting time instead of focusing on what’s really valuable in this life. Time to live and enjoy the walks you’ve never taken, give the hugs you didn’t give, kiss your children and your loved ones, tell those you love, you love them. Those would certainly be the most beautiful moments to remember, after all, these things fill our lives with joy.

Most all of us waste time day after day with greed, selfishness and intolerance to some degree. Every minute of life is priceless and will never be repeated, so take time to enjoy, be grateful, and celebrate your existence. Cherrish every moment. God Bless.
