Empty nesters

Yesterday by 11, we had Ty all moved in. It was a regular dorm atmosphere with lots of kids and their parents, carrying things into the dorm. We then hit Target and loaded him up with some food and other things for his dorm. Turns out Ty will not have a car as there is no parking available. We’re down tomorrow and Lori will drive it up then. Probably best anyhow but he will be trudging 5 or 10 minutes through the snow in the winter to get to class. Jag can always go through Denver and pick him up to come home, plus I’m down often. Ty meets with his advisor today to select his classes.

Today around here it begins. The great transformation from a house with clutter and useless crap everywhere to decluttered and clean. I’ll start with the mud room and then go from there. Lori works today in Vail. We’re excited about redoing the house room by room. Ty’s room will be a priority but my office and the basement and living room are due for a makeover too. In Ty’s room, his bed will go and some other stuff which will be replaced with some furniture from either my moms’ or Dixie’s.

In about a week and a half I leave for hunting and Lori will be in California for a couple days to meet the moving van to bring the stuff out that she wants to keep. I know she’s bringing a huge authentic oriental rug for one. Not sure what else.

Time to get moving. Good rain here yesterday and a lot in Denver. All is green and we have turned off the sprinklers saving us money. Make it a great day and God Bless.
