Phoneless

We left for Denver around 6am. About 30 minutes out, I realized I forgot my phone. For the next 8 hours I was off the grid. The time of not being able to be in touch with the World was more than I expected. When we made it home, nothing life threatening had happened. Yet I was sure I had missed something important from work or from somebody. This was a big wake up call. How could I be so attached to my phone that I was actually stressed out. Going through this tells me I need to detach from my phone. Think I’ll start by not answering it and just communicating by text, unless it’s Lori or one of the boys. Next I’m going to turn it off at night and then Hopefully I’ll soon be turning it off for the weekends. All I know is I have to get away from having it attached to me all the time.

Denver was fine. The trip was quick. We met Jag at Denver West to drop him some things. Also hit the back and dry cleaner and then were off to Idaho Springs where I had a meeting. Looks like USAA, the Worlds’ best insurance company, sent payments for the truck. Not only did they make the whole experience painless, but they also even went back and credited us for the cost of insuring the truck back to the accident date. Last, they paid us full retail for the cost of the truck, which was actually a bit more than we paid, wow. I thanked them and told the adjuster I’d do a commercial for them. She told me, this is the way it’s supposed to be and thanked me for my 20 years of membership. Luckily, Ty didn’t get a ticket either. We didn’t think he should have but you never know as the other driver flat out lied. Not sure what we’ll do know for wheels for him. If we get something, it’ll be cheap and used.

Ty had lacrosse and thankfully the game in Montrose was cancelled today. That would have been a good 4 hour drive. They had the team dinner last night for all the players. Lori’s face looks sunburned from her “cool peel” treatment yesterday at the dermatologist. I’m headed to the gym but she’ll stay home. Think I’ll smoke up some ribs today. James might come over. We hung out yesterday afternoon which we usually do.

Last, stock up on any and everything, your money is losing value daily and inflation is only going to get worse. Biden is trying to blame everything on Putin. Even February’s gas prices and inflation reports even though Putin didn’t invade until March, hmmm. They want to kill fossil fuel, meaning gas and are not even trying to hide it. We have to get these guys out of office.

Time to go, hope everyone is well. Take care and God Bless.
