Fighting

Lori and Ty are both fighting off colds. Tis the season. Dixie is a bit confused as usual and I’m still kicking the congestion in my head from my cold.

Yesterday a whistleblower who is a young woman from Harvard with an MBA testified in Congress how Facebook deliberately stokes and promotes division in our Country through it’s algorithm’s that send people specific feeds based on their interests. You see they know that division and hatred gets them many more clicks and use than a cute little puppy picture. They also apparently know that foreign actors such as Iran use its site to attack their own people with misinformation. So I’ve decided I’m done with them. They won’t care and nothing will change with my departure but I can’t in good conscious criticize them and still contribute to the problem. The worst thing is they target little kids and try to addict them at a young age through Instagram. Here’s the kicker, you can’t quit even if you want to! There’s no way to get off, unbelievable. Maybe this will be like when a single person stood up against big tobacco and make a difference. Facebook is banking against that. They think they’ll just ride out the storm and in a few weeks Congress will be on to something else. To be clear, it’s not just FB that’s the problem, although they are at the top of the heap, it’s all social media and the lack of human interaction and communication as people. Sure there’s good things about the internet such as doctors sharing research and such but the social impact of giving faceless people credibility and power over others is a big fail. Oh well, enough of a rant. Hope things change before it’s too late.

Snow could be coming next week! The high today is around 55. My trip to Grand Junction was successful and we’re now part of a small farm that produces the best veggies and spices of all kinds there is. More to come on this but I think we’re on to something. I brought boxes of food back and a large cooler of beef from our cow from Montrose. Freezers are full and we’re ready for winter. We have room for visitors! Annette, you should come out. Robi and Robert too!

That’s it, time to go, be well, stay safe and God Bless.
