Is that right? I think so, the 24th is turkey day and it’s right around the corner. Are you ready? I don’t think we are. Uncle T is cooking the turkey and the misses is doing everything else as far as I know. My Mom might be making stuffing or 3 bean salad. The big day will be at our house, hopefully the weather is good. Maybe we’ll cook something else too as the misses hates turkey and I could take it or leave it.
Today I have a colleague flying in around noon as we have a 3:30 meeting at the distributor here in Colorado. Then as I’ve mentioned, we’re both on a 6am flight tomorrow morning to Chicago. Wednesday is about the only day I’ll have any free time this week. The boys have field day at school sometime this week. It’s been cancelled twice due to weather but looks like this week will be the week. The misses and I will probably miss it but not much we can do about it. I already re-worked a couple of trips to make the previously scheduled days and the misses works Tuesday and Wednesday. Uncle T and Aunt B are going to try to show up for a bit of it. Either way, our boys will do great as they always do.
Yesterday the boys and I and the neighbor kid played tackle football outside. I’m telling you, look out for the youngest one. He’s like a tank and has a motor that won’t quit. He launches himself at you with reckless abandon only focused on knocking you down! It didn’t matter if it was his brother, the neighbor or me, he came at you full force. Finally I had to tell him to ease up a bit as he was going to hurt somebody. He and his brother were on one team and the neighbor kid and I on the other. This was actually a good thing as our boys were “high fiving” each other and had a real sense of being united for the common cause of tackling me! Finally I had to call halftime to take a break but within 10 minutes, they had me back out in the front yard. They had a blast and wore me out.
Earlier in the day we hiked up to the top of Table Mountain with the dogs. This was an hour total hike with a half hour up a pretty serious incline and then a half hour down which was actually harder on our knees than going up. We didn’t bring any water which was a big mistake, we won’t forget next time!
The rest of the day was filled with the Broncos Chiefs football game where we came out on top! The oldest went down to Uncle T’s to rake some leaves and then Aunt B took him with her to the store to get some groceries and bought some lunch. Turns out he had ambrosia salad with pineapple, whip cream an marsh mellows. Just like clock work, about an hour later he was in full melt down mode, white sugar strikes again!
The rest of the night was spent getting both boys down and watching a bit of tv. It’s now 5;30 and everyone is still sleeping. I just went out to get the paper and boy is it cool. I looked up and there’s not a cloud in the sky and you could see every star. That explains the cold, no clouds.
Time to read the paper and get moving for the day. Hope everyone has a great week and we’ll see you tomorrow.
God Bless,
