Memorial Day 2017

It’s sunny and nice outside, sort of calm up here in the mountains. With it being Memorial Day, we all of course honor those that have fallen for us and our Country over the years. There are a ton of great old movies on from back when movies were movies. I always liked those.

Yesterday Lori and I made it out of the house around 10 am. We were at the mall by about noon with our first stop to return Jaggers sport coat he wore to Prom. It just didn’t fit as it wasn’t long enough and I wasn’t keeping it for $565! Thankfully we bought it at Nordstroms. Next up was exchanging a pair of socks I bought that had a rip in them, and then a trip to the Apple store to have the hard drive on Ty’s computer wiped clean. In between all this we had a bite to eat as I had taken an allergy pill and was pretty wired up. Then we had a quick stop at a top account of mine before heading over to Jeff and Tina’s party.

The party was fun with lots of people we knew and it was good to see a bunch of old friends, most of who we’ve known for 10 years or more but don’t see all that often. We hung out from 3 until 6 before heading out. We did stop at the grocery store before heading up the hill to home. We made it home just before 8pm to find both boys hungry. They way they tell it, you would have thought they hadn’t eaten in weeks. Of course there was lots of food in the refrigerator but not necessarily what they wanted.

Today after the gym, it’ll be time to clean up a bit and then I’ll bbq some hot dogs and chicken. Tomorrow Lori and I are back at it and the boys have to clean their rooms. We only have Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to get everything done before we drive down to the airport Thursday night for our early Friday morning flight to Maui.

Oh by the way, before I go, the other day the school was split into 10 teams comprised of all the Middle and Upper school students for Field Day. They all dress up in different colors as teams and compete in fun silly games on the last day of school. In the end, after a “Dance Off”, they award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons to the three top teams. After that they gave Participation Ribbons to everyone else! Jagger of course, and this is great, turned it down and said no thanks, as he doesn’t believe in those. Ty also did the same. Good for our boys, it made us proud to know they don’t subscribe to the PC World liberals project. I mean, have we come to a point where no one loses anymore? This was just one more reason that validates our decision to move to Public School, good God. Have a great day and catch an old movie if you have a chance! God Bless.
