It’s 7am here meaning 11pm in Denver. Tomorrow the blog will be up at noon Denver time as I’m not taking my computer to Elba. We’ll leave in a couple hours on Antonio’s boat and his friend’s too who is going with us. We’ll spend most of the day swimming and boating around Elba before hitting the town tonight. The beach and town here last night were packed. The boardwalk was full of families and kids running everywhere and the beach is set up like something out of a 1950’s movie with umbrella’s stretching as far as the eye can see.
We met Antonio and went to dinner at a place I know well. The staff all remembered me as we have winter meetings here often and I eat there for days in a row. They brought the two fresh fish, a flounder and Piziano to the table on silver platters for our review before they cooked them. Ty and Andrea, (Antonio’s son) took off to play soccer and explore. He’s going into 6th grade and took Ty under his wing and showed him beach life, including gelato made the same day!
We made it back to our rooms by 10:30 after walking through the crowded town full of people from 3 months to 90 years old. We all woke up between 4;30 and 5:30 and walked to the beach to see the sunrise. It was hard to find a coffee at 6am but we managed. Breakfast is at 7:30 so time run. Hope all’s well, GB
