Well, we have snow, and lots of it, comparatively to what we’ve seen so far this year. They say a little more will arrive tomorrow too. The ground and the state sure need it so we’re ok with it. The misses and I will be off to Vail first thing after dropping the kiddos at school and I’m sorry to say, her headache is back. We think it was because of her stomping her foot while walking the night before last. She has a burning sensation in her neck under her skin, hopefully this guy can work his magic and fix her up!
Here’s a comment from Annette,
I’m going outside to feed the birds this morning and turn the water on the lawn (it’s about 61 and windy) because we didn’t get very much water from our last rain.I will then sit my butt down on the chair in the sunshine and watch all the pre red carpet, red carpet and Oscar’s for the rest of the day. It’s like Super Bowl Sunday at my house. Go see Silver Linings Play Book and Lincoln both very good but Argo should win. By the way I don’t care about the Hollywood people, I just want to see what they are wearing and how many people Seth McFarlen will piss off. (excuse the languge)
Turns out we did watch some of the Oscars as the misses too wanted to see what everyone was wearing. I guess Seth (the host) pissed some people off as they say he didn’t do such a good job. From what I saw, he was pretty funny. I fell asleep before the best actor, actress and picture were announced. They should do those first but then I guess no one would watch.
The misses appointment is at 10:30 so she’ll be done at noon and hopefully we’ll be home by 1:30 or 2. Our wine is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I’ll have 150 to 200 cases t0 carry in. I think I’ll do it all myself for the workout and to save the money instead of paying someone to help me. The rest of the week will be spent re-boxing various bottles and sending them out across the country. It’s a pain in the ass but has to be done. If I don’t do it myself, it’ll get screwed up.
Anyone watching this whole sequester thing? It appears, if you listen to the White House, that our World will end this Friday if we don’t sign off on not cutting a mere 85 billion dollars from the U.S. budget. Now let’s think about this for a moment, The deficit is 16 trillion and we’re freaking out over cutting 85 billion or less than 1/2 of 1%. All I can say is if the losers in Congress and the Big O can’t cut a measly 1/2 of 1%, we’re all in real trouble. Let’s face it, we’re all in real trouble anyhow but this further emphasizes the stupidity of our elected leaders. It cracks me up when the Pres has all those firefighters and policemen standing behind him when he’s telling us all the sky is falling. First of all, those first responders are paid on a local level by state taxes, there is no U.S. Fire Department! This is pure grandstanding and political theater. Second, if each federal agency cannot voluntary cut a percent or two, screw em. I say let the cuts kick in. Thankfully I think the general public is finally beginning to see the pattern of the Pres just blaming everyone but himself and trying to scare people to get his way. After all, the sequester was HIS idea, not the GOP’s or even the Dems, it was all his. Remember real leaders like Reagan and Kennedy. Did you ever see them give a speech blaming others? I don’t think so, they would instead roll up their sleeves and get to work. Â I remember Tip O’Neil and Reagan always getting together and working things out. But no, this Pres just keeps blaming everyone else while at the same time he continues to take away our rights by passing more and more useless laws to further his own agenda. A storm is a brewing, get ready as our economy is built on a house of cards. Ok, enough doom and gloom. Like I said before, if you don’t know this already, you probably never will.
It’s almost 6am and both pups are sleeping at my feet. A few schools are closed or opening late but sadly for the boys, ours is not one of them. They were really hoping for a snow day. I did take them sledding at school yesterday as they have a good hill. The boys had a blast for about 40 minutes but then we left as the wind was too cold. We then stopped at Starbucks for some hot chocolate to warm them up. The rest of the day the boys played either here or at the neighbors house. Tonight the oldest has baseball and the youngest has basketball. back to the grind, busy busy.
Have a great week, take care, stay safe and God Bless.
