The aquarium, the gym, the batting cage and motorcycles

Today we have a big day today before the Super Bowl tomorrow. First here’s a comment from Aunt Robi,

ROBI says:

I am planning my Superbowl menu too. Been living on hard boiled eggs and apples for a couple days so I can indulge!

This is probably a good thing as she’s so overweight! (this is me being sarcastic for those of you that haven’t met Aunt Robi)

Today the oldest guy wants to go to the gym with me so I’ll be heading out a bit later than usual so he can tag along.  Next up we’ll be “hitting” the batting cages as he has another tryout tomorrow morning in Golden. We’ve asked for a refund from Wheat Ridge where we originally signed up as they don’t have a real coach. One of the dads who we know has said he’ll coach but he can’t have practice until around 7pm each evening which is just too late. It was funny as when we were on the phone with the people at Golden baseball, this dad/coach showed up at our door telling us when practice would start and was “selling” us on it being a good team and lobbying for the oldest to play. I had to tell him we hadn’t heard back from the league and so we just got off the phone and were going to the Golden tryouts Sunday. They seem much more organized and together plus the oldest is always up for meeting new kids like he did when he played football. That’s a great quality that he’s willing to get out of his comfort zone and go play with kids he hasn’t met before. So anyhow, with him not having any practice hitting for a few years, we’re going to the batting cages today to get some reps in.

After that, we’re headed up to Sun Motorsports. This is a motorcycle and ATV dealer up by the bank where Uncle T works. In fact they bank at the same bank where he works and my Dad founded! We met these guys at the International Sportsman’s Show and the owners are open to bartering perhaps for some vino! Anyhow we’re not definitively getting a dirt bike but I agreed to go check it out as it’s been the oldest guys number one goal for almost a year.

Last he’s been wanting to go to the aquarium for weeks so as long as we’re out and if we’re not too tired (or sore from the gym) we’ll stop there too. Throw in a needed stop at the grocery store and a trip to return a sweater for my Mom and we’re pretty busy today.

Yesterday the youngest had his friend over after school and then went to a high school basketball game with him. I fell asleep before he arrived home but the misses stayed up. Both boys had chess club after school so they didn’t get home until a little after 4pm. I’m not sure when they went to bed as I was already out according to the misses.

Her head is a tiny bit better and she now has another appointment on the 13th at a clinic in Boulder that specializes in headaches, so we’re told. We all cannot wait until she can get pass this.

Oh well, just another day, hope you all are getting ready for the big game and remember to cheer for the Niners. Have a great day and we’ll talk to you tomorrow.
