Harley woke us at 4:30am! Either she or Lori spilled a glass of water off Lor’s nightstand. I was getting up at 5 for my run to Denver anyhow. I need to go down for a quick turn and should be back before noon.
Yesterday, James, Davy and I strolled into Mile High around 10:15. Adam was wafting for us and over the next couple of hours, he, Andrew and Joe (my three go to gunsmith guys) took care of us and fixed up and outfitted us with all the latest gear. Just so happened that Ray, who own the best suppressor company in the World, (primarily military contracts) was there. He was a super nice guy and must have had over a half a million dollars worth of gear in his truck. I’ve known Randy, the owner of the shop, for over 20 years and have been doing business with him for that long. Probably could buy a second home with what I’ve spent with him, ha. Davy and James had never seen anything like the place. Mile High is basically a professional shop for departments and the military that sells some equipment to the public. They were like kids in a candy store.
I prepped Adam telling him no pics and the usual stuff and everyone was pretty chill. Randy’s wife was the most annoying (I’ve known her for 20 years too, ha) as she pressed me for a picture, but I told her no. I’m not her biggest fan anyhow. Imagine if a pic of James ended up on social media with some kind of gun. Just look at the internet, and how things are misconstrued all the time. Wouldn’t be good. After we were done, we grabbed a coffee and pulled around the back of the building and hung out to smoke a cigar. We then headed downtown to drop James at the hotel as Addy was driving down to meet him as his sister arrives today at DIA for the weekend. They’ll drive up today. When we pulled up the valet came to my truck door, and I said we’re just dropping our buddy. He saw James and said, “ah, welcome back Mr. Allen”. That’s James’s middle name and what he always books reservations under. I kept all the gear in the truck and will bring his cases to the house when we have cigars tonight. I told him don’t take that stuff into the hotel.
This morning Lori is getting 200 units of Botox in her head, neck and traps for her headache. Insurance covers this as it’d be thousands of dollars but apparently helps. This is not a cosmetic procedure at all, even though Lori would probably prefer some in her face, ha.
The expansion tank on our water heater failed yesterday morning so Walt (our plumber) is coming by today to replace it. He stopped by yesterday to diagnose the problem. Good to catch it before winter.
Almost 5am so I should get moving. I’m on day 3 of eggs only (2 or 3 in the morning and 2 or 3 at night), of my quick fix. I’m down six or seven pounds and will keep this up at least a couple more days, if not longer. The body is an amazing thing in how quickly it’ll adapt. I’m really not even hungry even though I’m eating only eating about half a dozen eggs a day and nothing else. I needed a reset as I have been eating all kinds of crap over the past few months. You feel really good just eating clean food.
Have a great Thursday, be safe and God Bless.
