Good morning.  The temperature is supposed to reach 80 degrees this afternoon.  Maybe we’ll turn on the sprinklers for the kids to play in.

The Mister has been super helpful these days….not that he wasn’t before.  He has been doing all of the laundry, the dishes, the vacuuming and transporting the kiddos to and from school and to any parties or sporting events they attend.  Did I mention grocery shopping? He’s doing that too…although he has always done most of the grocery shopping. It’s a lot for one person and I certainly appreciate all of  the extra down time.

The youngest had fun at both birthday parties…I’m pretty sure he consumed cake, ice cream and more cake for his lunch and snack yesterday. The oldest came home from an exciting but disappointing Rockies game with a souvenir mini baseball bat and ball bag from the game.  The first 20,000 received the souvenirs from the game.  The kids went down on the field to watch the warm up and then up to their seats for the game.  The Rockies lost in extra innings…bummer.

The Mister and I got the aspen tree planted and the mulch spread around while the kids were gone.  The front yard is looking up..time to move on to the back.

We have mice…I thought it was only one mouse, but I’ve trapped two in the garage and saw a baby out front yesterday.  Where are all of my garden snakes this year?  I have a garden toad, but he’s too slow to catch that little mouse.  I really don’t want to kill them…I wish they would just relocate to the creek down the street.  I put out some decon, but that seems inhumane, as does the trap.  The trap does have a cover over it so all I see is the poor little tail upon capture.  I set one out front with a piece of pizza in it….who doesn’t like pizza?  I don’t want to put decon out front for fear of dogs, cats and squirrels getting into it. Ugg.

We hung a really nice squirrel proof bird feeder that Grandma gave us.  It’s in the tree out front, so far no birds…but there is a squirrel that is quite interested.  He sits on the branch that the feeder is hanging on grooming his tail and pondering just how he is going to get to the food.  I felt bad for him, so I threw some bird seed into the shrub he runs to when we open the door.  Maybe that is where the mice came from.

Anyway, the youngest guy has a dentist appointment and the oldest has his 10 year old wellness check this morning.  I am off to make breakfast and get this day started.

Have a great day and God Bless,

LLF
