2 Birthday Parties and a Rockies Game

Good morning, the Mister is at the gym and the boys are sleeping in.  The dogs have eaten, been out to play and had their morning rub down.

The lemonade stand was a success despite the chill in the air and our house being in the morning shade.  The kids made about $21 and split it three ways.  They each had to give $1 to the two little guys that were their worker bees.  The signage the kiddos came up with was priceless.  First, the had a giant chalkboard with a picture of a pitcher of lemonade and chocolate chip cookies drawn on it with the prices in big bold numbers.  Second, was a really colorful sign around the giant sports thermos. Third, a cardboard box that they had adorned with colorful letters and prices. One of the girls wore this as a skirt at our oldest’s urging. Finally, the youngest made a sign and taped it to his badminton racquet so he  could wave it around.  The older kids went up to the corner and waved their signs to get cars to turn off for lemonade.  I guess it worked….$21 in an hour is very good at 10 a.m.

I set up the badminton net in case they got bored with selling lemonade and cookies.  The kids played that for a while and went in the backyard to play with the dogs and then back to badminton. One of the girls had to leave a bit after 11 to go to her soccer game..75 miles away.  Have I ever mentioned how thankful we are that our soccer team is not a traveling team?  Well we are SO thankful. After that the youngest went to brunch with the neighbors and the oldest, the new neighbor girl and I walked up to her house to get her bike and go for a ride.

The youngest had his soccer game at 4:30. The Mister took him…I had to lie down.  The oldest stayed with me and repeatedly asked me to take him to Starbuck’s for an egg and sausage biscuit.  I finally told him that the biscuit was a morning item and perhaps we could get one in the morning.  Can you say, “Persistent”?

I made some tortellini for the kids, leftovers for the Mister and back to bed I went. The mister kept the kiddos entertained the rest of the night.  Thank you, my sweet man!

Today the youngest has back to back birthday parties to attend.  The first is for the neighbor boy and it is at a trampoline party place.  The second is at the little girls house. She has requested in lieu of gifts to bring donations for the Foothills Animal Shelter. The birthday girl is very excited to take all of the animal gifts to the shelter on Monday.  What a sweet and generous thing to do.

The oldest is getting picked up at noon to go to the Rockies game with his friend Jen.  I better make sure that his Rockies shirt is clean or I’ll be in big, big trouble.

I didn’t get the aspen tree planted yesterday, maybe the Mister will help me with that project while the kiddos are off on their adventures.

The munchkins have the day off tomorrow and Friday.  A three day school week.  It feels like summer already….

Have a great day and God Bless,

LLF

Mister here, although I’m boycotting the blog,  I have to chime in. The youngest one and I went to his soccer game at 4:30 and it was cold! He played well, again, and almost scored a goal! They won 3 to 1 and we were glad when it was over to get back to the warm car. The boys then watched Alice in Wonderland while I did the last load of laundry and the dishes. I almost forgot to tell you the funniest thing the oldest said the other day. He was outside playing with his friend and a few others (a few days ago on early release) and the misses and I were gardening. He had his shirt off cause it was so hot and he said to his friend who just missed a badminton shot, “what, do my awesome abs distract you?” Mom and I laughed for hours as did he, just had to share that, I keep forgetting.

Have a great day, God Bless
