Yesterday was full of errands around the valley and then a good dinner of ribs, baked beans, asparagus, wedge salad and homemade bread. Tom bought me a pecan pie to celebrate the Nuggets championship from the place in Texas where I get pies all the time as presents and Jagger picked it up on his way up. Marty showed up around 6 and joined us and we all hung out and had a good time.
While in Edwards at the grocery store, Lori and I were walking back to the truck when I saw a lady in a smaller car backing towards the truck! I yelled and yelled at her to stop, but it did no good as she backed right into the front bumper of the truck! I couldn’t believe it. Of course she tried to blame a guy in a pickup towing a fly fishing boat that made her back up which made no sense, and yes, she was from California. She didn’t know her insurance company and said she was a, and I quote, “in high end corporate finance”. This made little sense as she was in a cheap rental car she said was from Avis but couldn’t produce her rental agreement. Lori took pictures of the license plate of the car, her drivers license and we took her business card. Personally I wouldn’t have given her $100 to invest but her card and story matched up with the website of their company so we’ll now let the insurance company chase her. She was nice but, excuse me, flat out dumb! Not saying all Californian’s are this way, but this one was. I’ll take the truck down to Glenwood Tuesday so they can order a new steel bumper. It crunched her car big time as my truck is a one ton truck and her car had to weight about a quarter of that.
Today we might go to Basalt but will probably go to the gym first. I forgot to plug in my phone though so I need to let that charge first so I have music. The boys hung out playing video games after dinner and I think after we went to sleep so we’ll let them sleep until we get back. Jag of course scored 100 on his latest exam. He’s by far the top student in his class. I think all the other people are engineers, some who are taking the class a second time as they didn’t pass last year.
Foggy outside still. We might go to the Westin and hang at the pool this afternoon, if it’s sunny. Time to go, need another cup of coffee this morning, it’s a two cupper kind of day! One more show for James tomorrow night and then they’re headed home. God Bless.
