What a day, first up, Ty came home from spending the night at Izzy’s and had a sore hand. I guess they were moving some kind of shelf and it fell and he tried to grab it and hurt his hand. I was out picking up the turkey when Lori called saying she thought it was broken. So off they went to see Dr. Elton who checked him out. Turns out, he has a broken hand! Dr. Elton put him in a splint and he’ll see Dr. Dorf Monday in Frisco on his was back to Denver. Then we’ll know if he needs surgery. After seeing the x-rays, I’d be the answer is yes.
Meanwhile Annette, Serena and Matt were hanging out at the house. The day went quick and soon we headed out to Matsuhisa for dinner. The place was packed and we ran into a few people we know. I introduced Andres, the sommelier, to Matt who spent some time talking sake with him. Andres sent over tastings of a bunch of different high end sake’s for Matt to try. Annette had lamb chops but did try some sushi. After dinner, I had them bring a little hot chocolate lava cake with a candle as Annette’s birthday is coming up next Tuesday. By 7:30 or so we were all done and headed home.
Once back at the house we just hung out and had a blast. Soon it was 11pm and time for bed. It’s 7am now and we slept pretty good but I did go check on the turkey which was outside in a brine in a plastic storage tub. I was worried it might freeze last night but it didn’t.
Being Thanksgiving, I’m sure a lucky guy! I have a great wife that is so easy to love and two great boys. It’s hard to put into words the gratitude and love I feel for them. I’m truly blessed beyond belief. Couldn’t imagine having a better family.
Lori wants to go to the gym this morning before we get moving. Lots of football on and food and family for the day. Tomorrow we’re having a big Friends and Family party at 5. More on that to come. For today, enjoy, be thankful and make it a great day, may God watch over and bless you all!
