A Good Day

Yesterday we managed to follow our own advice and change things up a bit. We didn’t make it to the gym but that’s ok. After a slow morning around here we headed to Frisco to look at a coffee table I had found. Once there Lori found a rug too and after going back and forth with our sales girls, she managed to get them to give us a discount on both. We loaded both up and rushed home as we had dinner reservations at 5:30. When we arrived home, Jag helped me move furniture around and carry in the new rug and table. Once in place we all couldn’t believe how it transformed the living room and the whole house. It’s like some show home now. We’re all super happy with it.

30 minutes later we were in the car rushing to Beaver Creek to meet Marty and Melanie for her 50th birthday dinner. I guess it was a surprise that we were coming but Melanie figured it out. Dinner was really good with Lori having sole and I had the lamb. Two great dinners in a row, what luck. We were done by 7:30 and home an hour later. Lori had a great day which was the best news of all as she’s been kind of down lately with all her work and stress. She needs more sleep and Lori time.

This morning we are going to the gym and then to Frisco to pick up some food from the Mexican market and all of Melanie’s birthday flowers as she’s off to Dallas this morning for a week for work. She didn’t want them to go to waste and Lori said she’d take them. I remember dad would often bring home flowers for mom and they just make things better.

Today at 1 the Packers play the Bucs. Of course we’re rooting for Green Bay. Ty had Sonny stay the night. Jag went to the gym around 4 and has been working out and on a eating regimen to gain strength and muscle. Seems to be working. He’s up about 10 pounds and looks like a cage fighter. Both boys are working out tomorrow am at 6 before school. Time to go make coffee in our new house! Go Pack and God Bless.
