Last Day of August

Good morning. The Mister just left for the gym and the kiddos are still asleep. Bob and Fred (The beta fish) are still with us…I think they have almost surpassed their life expectancy. This of course is a good thing, you see…in all my beta research….it seems they are very social fish…just not with each other.  It’s funny, but they actually come to the front of their bowls, flare their gills and make eye contact each morning….or whenever someone stops to say “Hello” to them.We hope they make it another year.

The boys had another good day at school. I am amazed at the amount of 4th grade homework.  The spelling list came home yesterday…20 words that first have to be alphabetized and then re-written in cursive and in alphabetical order. Our 4th grader has really beautiful cursive and whipped through the list with a minimal amount of complaining. After homework the boys were off to ride scooters.  They both have figured out how to make the scooters jump while riding. The youngest caught a lot of air and would land the scooter with one leg on and one off.  They were also riding quite fast and we (Hubby and I) were trying to micro-manage the boys speed on the scooters to no avail. The oldest came in on his own during all of the fun to set the kitchen timer, grab his book and let me know it was time for his 35 minutes of reading homework.  Wow…was I ever impressed with his show of responsibility…..It has to be a hard choice…..ride with all of the neighbor kids…or come in and read for 35 minutes.  We did not even mention anything to him…he just made the choice on his own.  What a good kid.

Today is a “Clean up the clutter day”. I don’t know how this house can accumulate so much ‘Stuff” on every bare surface we have…..tables, counters, floors, chairs…unbelievable….I am starting with the mud room and working my way up…wish me luck because I am very good at procrastinating… and with a pirate themed dance for the kid’s school coming up Sept. 16th I could easily become distracted for something much more fun.

I am one of the “Chairs” for the dance along with two of my good friends. I am working on the decorations…Hurray…..it is kind of like building a stage set since we decorate the gym and the cafeteria. It’s a big space, but I have some really fun ideas.  More on that later.

Time to get the boys up…I’ll sign off…Hubby should be here in a moment to offer a “Political view” on the day.

God Bless…llf

Side note….I got hair extensions put in my hair and I finally have the lovely locks that I was intended to have. I love them, but if they look fake to those of you who know and love me…please tell me…you won’t hurt my feelings.

First off, her hair doesn’t look fake at all, in fact, she looks much younger and I catch myself doing a double take every so often. We didn’t make it to the Children’s Hospital event last night as the misses had a stomach ache. We had run up to Vail to do some paperwork while the boys were in school and by the time we got home, she wasn’t feeling well. She would have rallied but I told her not to worry about it, we’ll just go to the big gala in September. I’m reluctant to dive into politics as I don’t want to offend anyone but I was told the 1 person I might offend just skips over the political part anyhow. So, here goes, check this out. It’s kind of long but a good read because it’s from a liberal democrat and is all true! Read on if you dare! I’ll let the article speak for itself, take care, God Bless and have a great day, the boys and I are going to have breakfast now and then it’s off to school.

Here’s an opinion piece by Chuck Green who writes “Greener Pastures” for the Denver Post Aurora Sentinel…one of the more liberal papers in the country. Additionally, Mr. Green is a lifelong Democrat…so this is rather a stunning piece…

Obama is victim of Bush’s failed promises !

Barack Obama is setting a record-setting number of records during his first term in office:

Largest budget ever. Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken promises ever.

Most self-serving speeches ever. Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever. Fastest dive in popularity ever!

Wow! Talk about change.

Just one year ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations, President Obama was flying high. After one of the nation’s most inspiring political campaigns, the election of America’s first black president had captured the hopes and dreams of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable that a year later his administration would be gripped in self-imposed crisis.

Of course, they don’t see it as self-imposed. It’s all George Bush’s fault!

George Bush, who doesn’t have a vote in congress and who no longer occupies The White House, is to blame for it all.

He broke Obama’s promise, to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.

(I really like this one!)

He broke Obama’s promise to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.

(WOW)

He broke Obama’s promise to end earmarks.

(hmmm, surprise surprise)

He broke Obama’s promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.

He broke Obama’s promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo

in the first year.

He broke Obama’s promise to make peace with direct, no precondition talks with America’s most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.

He broke Obama’s promise to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.

He broke Obama’s promise to end no-compete contracts with the government.

He broke Obama’s promise to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.

He broke Obama’s promise for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.

He broke Obama’s promise to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.

Yes, it’s all George Bush’s fault ! President Obama is nothing more than a puppet in the never-ending failed Bush administration.

If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, all of President Obama’s problems would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel. North Korea would have ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government.

Oh, and did I mention what it would be like, if the Democrats, under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn’t have the heavy yoke of George Bush around their necks? There would be no ear marks, no closed-door drafting of bills, no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying (Nebraska, Louisiana).

If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, we’d have real change by now.

All the broken promises, all the failed legislation and delay (health care reform, immigration reform) is not President Obama’s fault or the fault of the Democrat-controlled Congress. It’s all George Bush’s fault!

Take for example the decision of Eric Holder, the president’s attorney general, to hold terrorists’ trials in New York City. Or his decision to try the Christmas Day underpants bomber as a civilian.

Two disastrous decisions.

Certainly those were bad judgments based on poor advice from George Bush!

Need more proof?

You might recall that when Scott Brown won the election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, capturing “The Ted Kennedy Seat”, President Obama said Brown’s victory was the result of the same voter anger that propelled Obama into office in 2008. People were still angry about George Bush and the policies of the past 10 years. And they wanted change.

Yes, according to the president, the voter rebellion in Massachusetts,

was George Bush’s fault.

Therefore, in retaliation, they elected a Republican to the Ted Kennedy seat, ending a half-century of domination by Democrats. It is all George Bush’s fault !

Will the failed administration of George Bush ever end, and the time

for hope and change ever arrive???

Will President Obama ever accept responsibility for something / anything?

In closing, no matter if you lean left or right, the man did not do what he said he’d do on multiple occasions. How can anyone still believe and support someone who has deceived or lied, yes flat out lied, to them so many times. Yes, it’s time for change once again, time to give the ball back to the other team. Too much has happened for Obama to have any real credibility with either side of the aisle, it’s time for him to go.
