Yep…the kiddos get out of school at 11a.m. this morning. Â The District is testing to determine placement for the next school year. Â That just seems crazy to me, because over the summer the kiddos do not retain all the information they learned the year before….and the kids are off on Monday, because the school tests alphabetically. Â This morning is A-F. Â This afternoon is G-L and so it continues through Monday.
The youngest had to stay in during recess yesterday because I told him not to take his unfinished homework to school yesterday since he would be there on Friday and Friday is when homework is due. OOPS! I guess thats what happens when you are a micro-managing mommy. Â He was quite unhappy when he got home, but on the brighter side…the youngest did get to hone in his reading skills during recess.
The oldest had Talent show practice and the youngest went over to…yes…a friend’s to play for a couple of hours. Â After talent show the Mister took the oldest to baseball practice and dropped him off in order to return home and watch “The Draft” Â The Mister stayed up late watching the draft, and waiting for Denver to choose their player(28th overall pick). Â The Mr. was not overjoyed at Denver’s pick and even less overjoyed that the team that picked right after us traded with Minnesota for 4 picks. Â He came upstairs grumbling distastefully, “Where were ya on that one Elway?” ” Our pick was a good pick, just not a flashy pick.” We will have to wait to see if our 28th pick pans out.
I have to pick up a few donations for the Silent Auction and dinner we are putting on for Jefferson County Sheriffs Dept. Employee Assistance Fund this morning. Â The Mister did an amazing job throwing this together. Â We have some great items being donated by some of our very good friends. Â An oil painting from our friend at the Gallery, 2 organic sugar scrub pedicures, an entire Anti-Aging system from Dr. Rodgers, a facial renewal treatment from Libby just to name a few. Â Lorenzo our friend and winemaker is flying in for the event and is graciously speaking at the EAF dinner. Â To top it off…when the Mr. picked up the youngest from his buddy’s house, my friend gave a $100 donation to the EAF fund. Â Hurray!!!
I posted a facebook post for the event that I am putting on for Dr. Rodgers, as the website people, haven’t gotten the email blast put together or sent out and we only have 3 weeks until the event date. Â I feel like the Practice Manager is undermining me at almost every turn. Â I confronted her on the lack of support she is offering yesterday, but of course she told me how happy she is that I am at the office. Â Yet, when I got home she had sent an email that was quite frankly…not supportive of my efforts to grow the practice. Â That is okay…all the other girls are thrilled that I am there. Now I’ll have to recruit all of my family and friends to come to the Beauty and Bellinis event, because I feel that the reason that the eblast has not been sent out is…the practice manager.
I did get one of the drug reps to give me 6 syringes of a filler.  In the 9 years that she has been working for the company she has never done such a big incentive….yea me!  That was my favorite part  of work last week!  It is quite fun!
Time to get the boys going for school.
God Bless
