Finally some snow

You asked about our rodeo experiences when we were kids. I remember going to the Cow Palace in South San Francisco every year with my parents. It was pretty much like you desribed the Stockshow. It used to be one of the biggest rodeos in the country. Lots of animals to see and popcorn, peanuts, and cotton candy. I remember one time my brother and I got to shake hands with Range Rider (Jack Mahoney) and Dick West, his sidekick. Range Rider was a TV show . My brother and I were so excited to get to shake hands with them. The Range Rider was the reason my brother and I wanted fringe on our elk skin jackets that our Dad had made for us. We also went to the Canadian Mounted Police Musical ride at the Cow Palace (equal time for Mom) and that was always a great show. Reno had a big rodeo every year so we went to that lots of times and always had fun. Serena’s uncle Todd (dads side) rode bulls all through high school and was in the rodeo club. He joined the Air Force after high school and was a 30 yr vet. He’s now is a school teacher and still has problems with his back and legs from high school rodeo. Rough sport. We also went to a few Indian rodeos., thoes were on the reservation and were more like local rodeos and we got to have Indian tacos. Indian tacos are one of the things I miss most about Nevada.

Yesterday was a busy day as we described yesterday. It started snowing in the afternoon around 3pm and continued until bed time. I picked the youngest up from d.i. and then after homework he and I were off to basketball practice. Finally around 8pm we began to get everyone ready for bed.

I’m off to Boulder today and the misses is going to the art gallery as she’s staging a bunch of paintings at the doctors office this afternoon. She’s been working on this project for a few months now.

Not much else going on without diving into politics and I’m just not up for it. Maybe the misses will chime in this morning.
